Welcome to the Fruits of Hope page, a Kampala, Uganda-based charity and its founder, a young man of faith named Mutagubya Abubaker. This page was created by one of the charity’s donors, Travis & Nicole Evins, who lead a Texas-based ministry called, Joy to You Ministries.
Fruits of Hope Story
On March 5, 2018, Travis and Muta connected on Facebook. Before long, we discovered that this young man was delivering donated food packages to families in need, providing clothing, and even raising funds to cover school tuition for children in remote villages of the Gomba District—about 90 miles west of his home in
Kampala, Uganda, in central East Africa.
Muta asked Travis if he would be willing to help, as he was trying to get funds for school supplies and Mosquito Nets. At first we were a bit skeptical, however; after following his activities on both his personal Facebook page and his charity page, Fruits of Hope Charity Family, we began to see the meaningful work he was doing firsthand and we began
supporting his efforts.
A True Heart for God & His People!
After a few months, it became clear that Muta is a young man who loves the Lord. He is on a personal mission to help his poorest neighbors.
He has a job but it doesn’t pay much. He doesn’t have a car, but gets around by bicycle. Yet with what little he has, he is also paying for and delivering these staple foods to others who have nothing. Unlike most who claim to be Christians, he is actually walking the walk. He truly has been the hands and feet of Jesus in his corner of the world.
Muta has always posted pics and videos and thanked donors directly for providing water bottles, mosquito nets, food packages, flip-flops (amazing how important those are), Christmas dinner, Easter dinner, school supplies, school tuition sponsorships because there is no free public education in Uganda.

Supporting Fruits of Hope
We’re not wealthy by any means, but we’ve found ways to give what we can, small donations ranging from $20 to $100 every couple of months. Others have also contributed modest amounts, sometimes up to $300. To people who have nothing, those gifts mean far more than their dollar value to us.
It all adds up. With a little help from generous donors, Muta has been able to make a real and lasting impact in his corner of the world. Supporting one person’s efforts may feel like tossing a drop of water into the desert, but that drop matters, because Muta’s work is direct, personal, and powered by pure commitment. He doesn’t wait for permission or funding; he simply acts out of compassion.
Of course, there are plenty of people in need right here at home, and we encourage everyone to lend a hand locally if that’s where their heart leads. However, if you’d like to join us, along with a few close friends and many kind-hearted people from Facebook, in helping Mutagubya and his Fruits of Hope charity continue their mission, we warmly invite you to do so.
All donations are processed through our ministry and are fully tax-deductible. We use a no-fee fundraising platform, so every dollar goes directly to the cause. The funds are received by us and then transferred to Muta through MoneyGram to ensure he receives the full amount promptly.
Thank you,
